Reflections

Experience

This semester, I delved into advanced typography, focusing on typographic systems and Type & Play exercises. Using Adobe InDesign, I explored different systems and created unique designs. The Type & Play project involved extracting and refining letterforms from images, blending creativity with technical skills.

Observations

I observed that each typographic system has its strengths: axial and grid systems offer structure, while radial and random systems provide dynamism. Integrating letterforms with their original images creates compelling visuals, and multiple iterations are crucial for refining designs.

Findings

These exercises enhanced my creativity and technical proficiency. I gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between type and image, which helped me create cohesive and impactful designs. This semester significantly advanced my typographic skills and design sensitivity.
