REFLECTIONS
Experience:
Embarking on the journey of typography over these weeks has truly broadened my perspective. Initially, I confined typography to merely selecting fonts, but each passing week revealed the uncharted complexities and depth within this field. From adjusting kerning to unraveling the anatomy of letters, every stroke and curve unveiled a richness that surpassed mere font selection. Typography transformed from a simple concept to an intricate craft of designing letters, each week adding a new layer, unveiling the concealed world within font design.
Observations:
Typography is an art that demands a nuanced understanding of letterforms, stroke intricacies, and the delicate dance between ink and paper. Mastering the art of wielding a pen became an art in itself, demanding precision and heartfelt intention behind every stroke. This journey lifted the veil on a world where every curve and line holds profound meaning. Studying peer works, seeking inspiration, and embracing feedback enriched my understanding, offering diverse perspectives and insights.
Findings:
Through reflecting on completed tasks, I've gradually realized that typography transcends mere technicality; it's not just about design; it's an evolution that demands our respect for its rules and a deeper understanding of its pivotal role in effective communication. This transformative journey has ignited within me a fervor for delving deeper into typography, not confined to the classroom but as an ongoing exploration.
