Rationale
In my design, the imagery of two polar bears standing on a cracked
ice floe surrounded by melting ice and garbage, with factories
emitting black smoke in the background, serves as a poignant
representation of the environmental crisis facing the Arctic region
due to climate change and human activities.
The decision to depict polar bears, iconic symbols of the Arctic,
highlights the impact of climate change on vulnerable species and
ecosystems. By placing them on a crumbling ice floe amidst melting
ice, the design emphasizes the urgency of addressing climate change
to prevent further habitat loss and species extinction.
The inclusion of garbage symbolizes the pollution and degradation
of the Arctic environment, while the factories emitting black smoke
represent industrial pollution and greenhouse gas emissions
contributing to global warming.
The contrast between the beautiful sun in the sky and the polluted
atmosphere underscores the contrast between the natural beauty of
the Arctic and the human-induced degradation it faces.
Overall, the design aims to raise awareness about the urgent need
for environmental conservation and climate action. It embodies
principles of visual storytelling, symbolism, and juxtaposition to
evoke an emotional response and provoke contemplation about the
consequences of human actions on the natural world.
